Two Months

It's hard to believe, but Rowan is two months old. It's been a really long two months, and yet it went by rather fast... if that makes any sense at all. Rowan is doing well—she weighs in at 11 lbs 4.5 oz (58%) and is 22.5 inches long (56%). She is definitely a chunky monkey—much larger than Ella was at this age (9lbs/22 in.) She's an incredibly happy little girl and loves to smile and laugh at her sister most of all. Rowan still isn't sleeping through the night, but we're getting at least one 4-6 hour stretch when we put her to bed (sometime between 7 and 8pm.) She's not the best napper, but she's so wonderful to be around that we're willing to overlook her daytime insomnia.

Last week, we saw Rowan's cardiologist in Pocatello (the Dr. comes up from SLC every once in a while) and we were finally able to take off the monitor that she's been wearing since we left the hospital in January. It was so nice to have the continuous monitoring, just in case. But Rowan showed no signs of a high heart rate since being switched to the propranolol. So we'll just have to check her heart with a stethoscope a few times a day. The Dr. was really happy with everything, so we'll only have to increase Rowan's medication to keep up with her weight until her next cardiology appointment in August.

On a not-so-great note, Rowan will be seeing an ear, nose, and throat specialist at the beginning of March. Sometime in between Rowan's three-week appt and 2-month appt, we discovered that she has two very small holes/indentations at the base of her neck. And one of them sometimes oozes a tiny amount of clear fluid. A little gross, but it hasn't been causing any problems. We don't have an official diagnosis, but she'll most likely need a minor surgery to close those up before they become a problem. More on that after her March 1 appt...

And last, but not least, Brady had a vasectomy on Friday and seems to be recovering well. So no, there will be no more additions to the Haynes family. We hadn't planned on it anyway, but I think that this pregnancy sealed the deal.

Wow, that's a lot of doctor visits. Our insurance must love us :-)
