On Saturday, Ella and Brady cheered me on as I ran my first 5k in years (and years). It was fun (as fun as running can be.) I came in fifth overall, first of the female variety. It was not a competitive race by any means, but something I've been wanting to do for some time. I ran another 5k on the treadmill today, just to see if I could beat my time... so it seems I am competing with myself, despite my best efforts to just have fun and keep in shape. At least it gives me something to work toward—improving my time and not embarassing myself at the next 5k.
On another note, Ella is now at a new daycare, which she likes very much. It's very close to Brady's work in Bremerton, so he gets to be her chauffeur three days a week and I get to enjoy ten (10!) hours of working time on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. So far (for three weeks), it has been a great arrangement, as Ella gets to interact children her age (there are six total in her daycare) and I get some much needed time to focus on work. But by the end of the day, I really, really miss her. Lots and lots. And when she comes home, Ella always runs up to me and gives me the biggest hug. Can't beat that! :-)
