Hot, Hot, Hot!!!!

We made it back from Montana last night. I never thought I'd say it, but the weather is actually better here in DC (in July!!!!). It was incredibly hot every day (98-106 degrees) and it was difficult to do much outside. But... we visited with lots of people and Ella got to show everyone her new tricks.

We arrived very, very (very, very) late Saturday night in Missoula. My mom picked us up and we traveled back to Thompson Falls that night - we didn't get in until 2 a.m. Ella was great on the two flights over and napped most of the way, but was exhausted by the time we got there. She only slept in until 5 a.m. once we arrived. Needless to say, I was TIRED on Sunday.

Ella also decided to start getting another tooth right before our journey (sound familiar? - she got two teeth on our last trip to MT). She was moody the whole time, slept horribly and tried to bite everything. But all things considered, Ella was very good.

On Tuesday, she got to play with her cousin Ben (now 9 months). Ella wasn't too sure about him. He was in a much better mood and was stealing her thunder, so she growled at him... and wore a scowl on her face for his entire visit. Maybe next time they'll get along better.

Ella also got to play in the pool with her grandma Nancy. She LOVED splashing around and making a mess. I wish we had room here to get her a baby pool, but the 3' x 6' "patio" we have just won't cut it. Oh, to have a lawn... and to have family close.

We'll be traveling back to Montana in early August for my 10-year reunion (and to just visit family). Brady will be going with us, which will be WONDERFUL. Ella is a great little traveler, but she always has more fun when Daddy is around. More soon!

Before we leave...

Silly hair...
Watching tv... really.
Climbing to get the camera.

Here are a few Ella photos to tide everyone over... I probably won't have another post until next Friday (more like Saturday). Hope everyone has a great week! Stay cool and wear your sunscreen!!!!

Love,

Knits and Kicks

On Tuesday, Ji Sun taught me how to knit!!! So exciting. Now, I am working on my first project (a scarf - big surprise) with yarn I brought back from Iceland. I'm having so much fun!

Also, I just bought a new pair of kicks and have to tell everyone about the great deal I got at endless.com... FREE overnight shipping. Yup. I bought them yesterday and now they're here. AND, they fit. Lovely!

Ella and I are preparing (she's actually not much help) to fly out to Montana on Saturday. Brady's flying to Idaho that same day for work, so we're taking the opportunity to visit everyone out West. I. Can't. Wait. We'll be there until next Friday. Yahoooooo!

10 Months

This Saturday was Ella's 10 month birthday! Yay! Here's what we did:

6:30 a.m.
Ella slept in — giving me ample time (read: 15 minutes) to shower, get dressed and primp before feeding her.

7:00 a.m.
Brady, Ella and I left for the AT&T National golf tournament in Bethesda. We received free military tickets and decided to try taking Ella first thing in the morning - before the heat. She was wonderful! It took several O's to keep her quiet, but we stayed for over two hours without incident. She enjoyed the clapping most of all - and thought it was for her :-)

10:30 a.m.
Naptime! Yay!

The rest of the day:
You didn't think I was really going to give you the complete play-by-play... we basically just hung out the rest of the day. But it was fun :-)
