Happy (Day After) Thanksgiving!

Walking on the beach with Grandma Nancy.
Tootsies peeking through the sand.
Swinging at the park.

Yes, we walked to the beach on Thanksgiving day... it was in the mid-70s. Wonderful! More photos of our day can be found here and there are a few of Cousin Phoenix here!

Suffering

Poor little Ella is going through a rough time right now. She's currently working on four (4!!!) teeth—and two of them are molars. She's trying to be her usual fun-loving self, but sometimes it's just a bit too hard. I wish I could do more, but I keep telling her that the sooner she gets those teeth, the better she'll feel. I guess Ella just doesn't understand. She's going as fast as she can :-)

On Friday, Brady picked up his mom from the airport. Ella enjoyed spending the weekend with Nancy (and even said "grandma" a few times) before she took off for Gretchen and Wessley's to spend time with the newest grandbaby, Phoenix. We'll be joining them all down there tomorrow afternoon. I can't wait.

I am shaking as I write this post, as I met my friend Mara at the gym to take a sports conditioning class. It. Was. Tough. Lotsa circuits/weights/high knees. For an hour. I'll be feeling that in the morning. I joined this gym in September, as they have babysitting (thanks for the recommendation Mara!). Ella loves going there to play and I get to burn a few calories (outside those burned while chasing a toddler). And it couldn't come at a better time. Let the eating begin! Hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Shoes!!!!

Ella's new kicks! If you have kids, I highly (HIGHLY!) recommend this brand - Vincent. This is Ella's third pair and they are all great... especially since all of them have been on sale :-)

Pants Optional

Ella decided that she wanted to wear shoes and socks... but definitely not pants. Scandalous!

Struttin' her stuff.

I'm not sure how she does it, but Ella seems to get cuter every single day. She's walking everywhere, getting into everything, and talking lots more. She likes to say "Uh Oh" non-stop. She often says it before she does something naughty, like throwing food, just to warn us of the mess to come. We took her downtown yesterday for a little shopping and lunch (Brady had the day off). It was so great to walk down the sidewalk with Ella—each of us holding one of her chubby little hands. She loved the attention, too.
Ella's also becoming quite affectionate. She likes to cuddle up next to us if we're laying on the couch or floor in the living room. Right next to us. She also likes to give (and receive) kisses. She lets you know one's coming by saying "mmmmm" and leaning in for a smooch. It melts my heart. Every time.
We are anxiously awaiting Nancy's (Brady's mom) arrival late on Friday and we'll all be headed down to Gretchen and Wessley's for Thanksgiving. I can't wait to get out of town, even if it's just for a few days. We're hoping to get back to Montana in January. Wish we could go home sooner, but we're all busy until the end of the year. Ugh!

She's got places to go!

Ella has been taking steps for about three weeks, but yesterday, she finally felt comfortable enough to walk for an extended period of time. I think she was discouraged by all of the falling... and our incessant pleas for her to walk. Once we gave Ella a little space, she decided she was ready to try again. Here's a short clip of her waddling around ;-)

Itty Bitty

We just returned from a short trip to visit Gretchen, Wessley and Ella's new cousin, Phoenix. He is SO CUTE. He was a tired little man (being born is hard work!), and he managed to stay asleep the whole time even though Ella did her best to wake him up. It's strange to see the difference a year makes... and it's hard to believe Ella was that little once. We hope to see more of them again very soon!

Check out my flickr account for lots more photos!
