You Ought to Be in Pictures

We just returned from a long trip to Oregon. More on that later... until then, here are some new photos. Isn't she cute?

Oregon Trail

We're off to Oregon tomorrow - taking Ella on her first airplane ride... across the country. I'm a little nervous about our time on the plane, but I hope Ella takes to it the way she has riding in the car. I have built up a supply of milk to give her and hope that does the trick. We'll be visiting Brady's grandparents in Applegate (Southern Oregon) until the 24th. I'm so excited! For those of you who may not know, that's where Brady and I were married over 6 years ago! It's such a beautiful place and Ella will get to meet her great grandparents for the first time (two of our most favorite people - ever!).

I most likely won't be posting any photos until our return. So, in the meantime... I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving. There's so much to be thankful for (like cute little girls!) Be safe and take care.

Much love,
Amber + Ella :-)

2-month Update

Ella went in for her 2-month appointment and all is well. She's still quite petite - only 9 lbs and 22 inches long. She's well within the normal range, but still so tiny! I also had to take her in to get three shots... Boy, was that difficult for me. I tried not to look and instead held Ella's little hands and watched her face. When they stuck her with the first set of needles, she let out a high-pitched shriek and then left her mouth open for about 10 seconds - unable to let out any noise, she was in so much pain. So sad! But, just a few minutes later she was laughing and seemed to forget all of the torture we just put her through. Since then, she's been pretty tired and has had a fever off and on, but nothing major. I'd say she did pretty well... I'm just not ready to put her through that again any time soon.

This last weekend, Ella got to spend some time with her Uncle Wessley and Aunt Gretchen who were in town looking for a house. They will be moving to Southern Maryland at the beginning of the year. We can't wait to have them around!

Brief Nudity

Ella had her first proper bath today. It took her a full 8 weeks to get rid of her umbilical cord stump. I know, I know. That's highly unusual and I probably should have taken her into the doctor to have them hack it off long ago... but I didn't and Ella turned out just fine. She's now even cuter and can enjoy soaking in a tub rather than being sponged down every other day.

All is well here. We're just enjoying Ella's company - she really does get cuter every day. She likes to smile and laugh after eating. And she snorts like a pig when she gets really mad. We take her in for her 2 month (2 months already!!!!) checkup on Tuesday. I'll let you know how that goes. She has to get several shots and I'm sure it will be difficult for me to watch... but we all go through it, I guess...
